What we collect, and why.

Contact inquiries

When you send a message, we store your name, email address, subject and message so our team can read it and reply.

Volunteer applications

When you apply, we store the details you enter: name, email, country, interests, skills and experience, preferred dates, length of stay, motivation, any optional message, and your confirmations. We use them only to review your interest and get in touch. We do not ask for passports or identity documents through this website.

Who sees it

Submissions are visible only to signed-in members of our team with inbox access. They are not public and are not sold or shared for marketing.

Newsletters and supporter updates

If you request newsletters, we store your email, the consent wording, source and date of your request, confirmation status and any opt-out or suppression record. Only authorized admins can manage these records. An interest request is not a confirmed subscription: you must verify your email before you become eligible. Email delivery and confirmation messages are not active yet; no messages are sent in preview-only mode. Your consent is not bundled with volunteer or contact forms.

When email delivery is configured, Resend will process supporter addresses and newsletters for delivery. Each message will include a personal unsubscribe link; bounced or complained-about addresses will be suppressed. You can also ask us to delete or update your details through the contact form. We retain requests only while needed for the newsletter service, and minimal consent and opt-out records as needed to honor your preferences.

AI-assisted drafts and photographs

Authorized staff may use Lovable AI to propose newsletter copy from verified project notes. They must avoid children’s names and sensitive stories. Uploaded images are kept private and are not sent to AI. Every letter requires human review and separate approval. Identifiable photographs or sensitive personal stories require explicit permission for newsletter use. Only approved text deliberately marked as a public project update appears in the archive.

Spam protection

To limit abuse, we store a one-way scrambled code derived from your connection details (not your raw IP address) to restrict how many forms can be sent in a short time.

Your requests

If you'd like us to update or delete what you sent, please ask through our contact form.
