Our story
A young organisation with patient roots.
I·HEART Project is a local NGO in Malawi, registered in 2025 and based around Lilongwe.
The people
Daniel and Satomi Novotny work alongside a local Malawian team. Together they care for children in the Safe Home, walk with families through social work and outreach, tend the gardens and fields, and take part in community projects.
The local team is the heart of the work. Their knowledge of language, culture and community guides how we listen, decide and act.
Local NGO, Swiss friends
I·HEART Project is registered as a non-governmental organisation in Malawi, and the work is led here.
Our supporting partners include Change the World Switzerland and Sponsorship Network International. These relationships form part of a wider circle of support alongside our local colleagues and community partners.
Values & approach
What guides us
- Local relationships
- Trust is built person by person. Our work is shaped by the people and community around us.
- Practical care
- We focus on what makes a real difference day to day: safety, food, learning, a listening ear.
- Dignity
- Every child, family and neighbour is a partner, never a project. We protect privacy and tell stories with care.
- Collaboration
- We work with local leaders, families and supporters, and value what each brings.
- Long-term resilience
- We plan for years, not months — growing skills, soil and livelihoods that last.
